CMA CGM to connect Turkey, Spain, France and Algeria with new service

The French container carrier CMA CGM has announced the start of TMX 1.2 service, which the company has described as “the faster ever maritime bridge” between Turkey, Spain, France and Algeria.

This new weekly Pendulum service, which is expected to start from Ambarli, Turkey on 8 June with the 916 TEU Contship Fun, is a result of the re-shuffling of the company’s SSL INTRAMED services.

The new service is part of CMA CGM’s TMX product that consists of four loops, TMX 1, TMX 1.2, TMX 3 and TMX 4.

The new TMX 1.2 service will be operated by three ships with an average capacity of 1,100 TEU, which will follow the port rotation below:

Ambarli, Turkey – Gebze, Turkey – Aliaga, Turkey – Barcelona, Spain – Marseille, France – Bejaia, Algeria – Annaba, Algeria – Ambarli, Turkey

The first stop at Ambarli will be on 8 June, in Barcelona on 15 June, in Marseille on 17 June, in Bejaia on 20 June and in Annaba on 22 June.

Therefore, the service’s ocean transit time references are from Aliaga to Barcelona in four days, to Marseille in six days, to Bejaia in nine days and from Marseille to Bejaia in one day.

“This service will provide new gateway capabilities for the routing of cargo destined for other locations in Western Europe, such as Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc,” said CMA CGM in a statement.
