
CMA CGM will introduce new Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on shipments from the Far East and Indian Subcontinent to the United States.
The new charges will take effect on 1 October 2026 and remain in place until further notice.
Far East-US surcharge reaches US$5,065
For shipments from the Far East, excluding Bangladesh, to the United States, CMA CGM will apply a PSS of US$3,600 per 20-foot container.
The surcharge will be US$4,000 per 40-foot container and US$5,065 per 45-foot container.
The charges apply to all cargo, excluding shipments to Honolulu and Dutch Harbor.
Indian Subcontinent-US East Coast PSS hits US$10,000
The same US$3,600, US$4,000 and US$5,065 rates will apply to shipments from the Indian Subcontinent and Bangladesh to the US West Coast.
However, cargo from the Indian Subcontinent and Bangladesh to the US East and Gulf Coasts will face a significantly higher PSS of US$10,000 per unit.
The new surcharge applies to all cargo types.
