French shipping group CMA CGM has announced new peak season surcharges worldwide, which will take effect during the next weeks.
First of all, a peak season surcharge of US$250 per reefer TEU and US$500 per reefer FEU will be implemented by the Marseille-based box line for shipments from all North European ports, including North France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, the Baltic region, and North Spain (Bilbao and Gijon), to the US East Coast, US Gulf, Canada East Coast, Mexico East Coast, and all inland destinations accessible via these ports.
CMA CGM will also apply a PSS to shipments originating from the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East Gulf, Red Sea, and Egypt, and destined for the US East Coast and US Gulf Coast. The surcharge will be effective from 15 September and will be US$1,000 per unit.
Furthermore, the French ocean carrier will launch a peak season surcharge from the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East Gulf, Red Sea, and Egypt to the US East Coast and US Gulf Coast. The PSS of US$1,000 per unit will take effect on 1 October.
