CMA CGM announces multiple Peak Season Surcharges

CMA CGM has issued a series of Peak Season Surcharge notifications covering multiple trade corridors, with effective dates ranging from June 7 through July 1, 2026.

Asia to North Europe Effective June 15, 2026, a surcharge of US$ 600 per TEU applies to all cargo from all Asian ports, including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh, to all North European ports covering the United Kingdom and the full range from Portugal to Finland and Estonia.

East Mediterranean and Türkiye to US East Coast Effective July 1, 2026, dry cargo originating from the East Mediterranean including Türkiye, Greece, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Egypt, Syria, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania, Croatia, Albania and Slovenia to US East Coast ports and inland points will attract a surcharge of US$ 1,300 per 20-foot and US$ 2,600 per 40-foot, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot unit.

China to West Africa Effective June 8, 2026, and applicable to short-term contracts, dry and reefer cargo from China to the West Africa Central Range covering Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, Togo and Equatorial Guinea carries a surcharge of US$ 750 per TEU. Cargo to the West Africa South Range covering Angola, Congo, DRC, Namibia, Gabon and Cameroon is subject to a surcharge of US$ 525 per TEU.

West Mediterranean to Canada East Coast Effective July 1, 2026, all cargo except out-of-gauge from West Mediterranean ports including Italy, Spain Med ports, France Med Fos to Canada East Coast and inland points carries a surcharge of US$ 300 per 20-foot and US$ 600 per 40-foot, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot unit.

West Mediterranean to US East Coast Effective July 1, 2026, all cargo except out-of-gauge from West Mediterranean ports to US East Coast ports is subject to a surcharge of US$ 500 per 20-foot and US$ 1,000 per 40-foot, 40-foot high cube and 45-foot unit.

China to South Africa Effective June 7, 2026, all cargo from China to Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town carries a surcharge of US$ 100 per TEU.

China and Southeast Asia to Mauritius Effective June 7, 2026, all cargo from China and Southeast Asia to Port Louis, Mauritius is subject to a surcharge of US$ 275 per TEU.
