CMA CGM and CCCC sign cooperation agreement on ports and logistics

CMA CGM GRAND PALAIS

CMA CGM and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand their cooperation across several markets, according to DynaLiners.

The agreement covers ports, hinterland infrastructure, logistics, transport, innovation and energy transition projects.

The companies plan to explore opportunities in Africa, China, Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Cooperation covers ports and infrastructure

Under the agreement, CMA CGM and CCCC will strengthen their cooperation on port and hinterland infrastructure projects.

The partnership will also cover logistics and transport activities. In addition, the companies will explore projects linked to innovation and the energy transition.

The MoU creates a framework for cooperation across several regions where both groups have operations.

CMA CGM to support CCCC projects

The agreement also covers shipping and logistics services.

CMA CGM could provide these services to support CCCC’s construction projects in different markets.

The two companies have already worked together on major African port developments.

CCCC, through its subsidiary China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), has cooperated with CMA CGM at Lekki Freeport in Nigeria and Kribi Container Terminal in Cameroon.

The new MoU aims to expand this existing relationship into additional projects and regions.
