ClassNK has received authorisation from the French Government’s Directorate General for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture to conduct statutory surveys and certification services for French-flagged vessels.

The approval enables ClassNK to carry out statutory surveys and issue certificates on behalf of France in accordance with international conventions, including SOLAS, MARPOL and the International Convention on Load Lines.

With the new authorisation, ClassNK can now provide a full range of services for French-flagged ships, including classification, statutory surveys and certification through a single provider.

The classification society noted that it already holds delegated authority from more than 100 countries and regions worldwide to perform statutory surveys and issue certificates under international maritime conventions.

ClassNK said the authorisation will strengthen its ability to support the safety, compliance and operational requirements of French-flagged vessels while expanding its presence in the European maritime market.

The organisation added that it will continue providing classification and certification services aimed at supporting the development of the global shipping industry and meeting customer needs.
