CEVA expands transpacific air cargo network with new Vietnam charter

CEVA Logistics has expanded its transpacific air cargo network by launching a new charter service between Hanoi and Chicago while renewing its existing Wuxi-Chicago route.

The expansion aims to provide customers with more reliable air freight capacity between Asia and the United States.

The new Hanoi-Chicago service will operate three times a week using a Boeing 777 freighter. It targets shippers in the high-tech, industrial, retail and e-commerce sectors.

CEVA will also provide cargo pickup and consolidation from Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, supported by customs brokerage and multimodal transport services.

At the same time, the company has renewed its Wuxi-Chicago charter for a second year.

The route will now operate with CMA CGM Air Cargo. The twice-weekly service will use Boeing 777 freighters and offer up to 100 tonnes of capacity per flight.

Both services will route cargo through CEVA’s Chicago gateway, located near O’Hare International Airport. The 700,000-square-foot facility includes dedicated freight space, a Free Trade Zone, cold storage and cargo screening capabilities to speed up customs clearance and onward distribution.

Customers using the two charter services can also choose Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and other carbon reduction options through CEVA’s FORPLANET programme.

“We continue to strategically expand our controlled air network along key transpacific trade lanes,” said Loic Gay, Vice President of Global Air and Ocean Operations at CEVA Logistics.

He said the new Hanoi service supports Vietnam’s growing manufacturing sector, while the renewed Wuxi charter provides greater supply chain stability for customers shipping between China and the United States.
