APM Terminals Gothenburg prioritises electric trucks

The new priority solution, which will go into effect on 1 March 2023, will allow electric vehicles to bypass other trucks at APM Terminals Gothenburg in Sweden through a designated lane and receive priority processing within the terminal area.

The first electric trucks are already in service, and APM Terminals Gothenburg, the Nordic region's largest container port, will reward haulage businesses who have begun their path toward electrified truck transport with this priority solution.

Every day, an average of 1,000 trucks pass through APM Terminals Gothenburg's gates. Although just a few of these trucks are electric at the moment, APM Terminals and its partners in the Gothenburg goods hub aim to facilitate the switch.

"Sustainability is one of our cornerstones at APM Terminals, and our own container handling has been fossil-free for several years,” said Brian Bitsch, commercial manager at APM Terminals Gothenburg.
