APM Terminals Buenos Aires has invested in the terminals' growth with the commission of a new, latest generation, mobile harbour crane and safety.
The new crane with a capacity of 154 tons and a reach of 54 meters will contribute to faster and more efficient container loading and discharging, being able to support the growth in cargo volumes, according to a statement.
"This new mobile crane at APM Terminals Buenos Aires will directly benefit our daily operations and support the faster turnaround of both ocean and river vessels," said Marcelo Siminet, Head of Operations at APM Terminals Callao.
APM Terminals Buenos Aires has also worked with local talent on an innovative safety Dojo, a place of immersive learning and at APM Terminals Callao it provides interactive learning tools and simulations that explain how to identify potentially dangerous situations and what to do in these situations.
"Our Dojo allows us to implement processes and continuous improvements to help us to become even safer every day," explained Juan Pablo Lloret, Head of Safety, who pointed out that in addition to education on preventing dangerous situations, it fosters a culture of safe, responsible and collaborative work.
In addition to training employees and contractors, the space is also open to the public visiting the terminal, customers and suppliers.
"Both initiatives demonstrate APM Terminals Buenos Aires' ongoing commitment to improving foreign trade activities and investment in the development of innovative practices that provide better and safer experiences at the Latin American Port," commented APM Terminals.
