2M Alliance announces blank sailing in Shanghai

2M Alliance of Maersk Line and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will implement a blank sailing in its AE55/Griffin service due to the current challenging market situation generating global port congestion and schedule delays across the supply chain.

“These accumulated delays are currently causing gaps with the line-up and resulted in Asia departures been spread apart by more than seven days,” said Maersk in its announcement.

The largest container alliance has, therefore, decided that the 14,000TEU MSC La Spezia will slide one week from week 29 to week 30, with a revised estimated time of arrival (ETA) in Shanghai on 1 August 2021.
