WEC Lines introduces new service linking Europe with Morocco

WEC Lines has announced a new weekly service connecting the United Kingdom, France and Northwestern Europe with Casablanca, Morocco.

The new Euro-Maroc service offers a direct sailing route from Rotterdam and Antwerp to Casablanca, while also making easier seamless transportation from Portugal and Spain via Montoir in France.

The new service, which will replace the existing NWC Iberia and MOPT services, will be effective from 19 September.

The service will depart from Montoir on Tuesday and arrive in Thamesport on Thursday. It also offers an eco-friendly alternative to truck transport from West France into England. Montoir will be called twice a week Northbound and Southbound.

The ports of call will be Thamesport, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Montoir, Bilbao, Vigo, Leixões, Setubal, Casablanca, and Figueira da Foz, forming a well-connected bridge between these vital trade hubs, said WEC Lines in a statement.

Additionally, the new weekly service will be performed by three 800 TEU boxships in a 21-day rotation (fix-days), with optimal short sea and hinterland linkages.
