WaveBL has completed an integration with Evergreen Marine Corporation to support the container carrier’s expansion of electronic Bill of Lading (eBL) services.
The integration connects Evergreen with WaveBL’s digital trade network. It will allow electronic Bills of Lading to be issued, transferred and managed through the platform.
Evergreen has operated its own iBL service since 2018. The Taiwan-headquartered carrier is now adding WaveBL as another solution as it works towards its target of 100% eBL adoption by 2030.
Evergreen connects to WaveBL digital trade network
Through the integration, Evergreen will gain access to WaveBL’s existing network of shippers, freight forwarders, consignees and other trade participants.
WaveBL said the connection will help Evergreen expand the availability of electronic Bills of Lading across additional markets.
The digital process can reduce reliance on paper documentation. It can also improve coordination between the different parties involved in international trade.
WaveBL customers can now connect with Evergreen directly through the WaveBL application.
Integration supports DCSA eBL standards
The integration complies with Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) standards.
This is designed to support interoperability as the container shipping industry moves towards standardised and paperless trade documentation.
The development also supports the industry’s wider push to replace traditional paper Bills of Lading with digital alternatives.
Evergreen is one of several major container carriers targeting full adoption of electronic Bills of Lading by 2030.
