Volta Shipping appoints new commercial head

United Arab Emirates-based shipping company Volta Shipping has announced the appointment of Sankhoj Das as the head of its Commercial team.

With a background in leading commercial strategies and achieving significant milestones, Das’s expertise is set to bring a new dimension to Volta’s operations globally.

Under the guidance of Das, the commercial team will be looking to bolster commercial capabilities, improve customer satisfaction, strengthen the brand image, and drive significant customer development, in alignment with Volta Shipping’s objectives for growth. The team will also refine its approach to select the right customers and trade lanes, aiming for the highest returns and efficiency.

Capt. Debjit Sengupta, Managing Director at Volta Shipping, stated, “Bringing Sankhoj on board is a crucial step for us. His extensive experience, strong people skills, deep understanding of the market, and solid customer relationships are precisely what Volta requires to adapt to changing market trends. Sankhoj Das has more than 20 years of related experience, having started his career in India before working across Asia’s biggest markets based out of the Hong Kong region and managing across an Asia Pacific business scope.

His new role will see him based in Volta’s Dubai Head office. He is expected to focus on fostering a strong team culture at Volta, nurturing an environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
