ShibataFenderTeam supplies 11 SPC cone fenders for AGEO Terminals expansion

ShibataFenderTeam, a leading international fender manufacturer, developed and supplied 11 SPC Cone Fender Systems (1300, G1.2) with closed box panels (2300 x 3860mm) pre-fitted with UHMW-PE pads to allow secure berthing for the bigger vessels.

In addition, 11 double Quick Release Hooks (QRH 100t) were constructed and provided in collaboration with the firm’s long-term partner company Straatman.

AGEO Terminals, a pioneer in liquid bulk handling at the Port of Santos since 2008, serves a variety of sectors, including chemical and cosmetics. Its significant location on the port’s left bank – the largest in Latin America – allows for extensive developments.

The building of the new berth AGEO SP, capable of carrying ships up to 230 meters in length and with a capacity of 80,000 DWT, is a prominent example of infrastructure development.

Given that the new berth primarily handles liquid bulk vessels, which frequently transport highly hazardous cargo, strict safety and quality standards were critical. The project’s rapid completion, which began in early February and was completed by the second part of the same year, is also notable.

Finally, AGEO was especially delighted with the outstanding customer service offered during this project. SFT celebrates the successful construction of the new terminal, which provides a substantial boost to AGEO’s competitiveness and demonstrates the company’s commitment to the region.
