Sallaum Lines has launched Sallaum Logistics Ltd, a dedicated European automotive logistics company designed to extend its vehicle transportation network from sea to road.
Headquartered in Lithuania, the new company will focus on inland transportation of finished vehicles across Europe. It will connect ports, factories, distribution hubs and dealerships through a dedicated road logistics network.
Sallaum extends vehicle logistics from sea to road
Sallaum Logistics will operate as an independent road logistics company, backed by Sallaum Lines’ experience and network in maritime vehicle transportation.
While Sallaum Lines will continue to focus on global Ro-Ro ocean transportation, the new company will handle the inland stage of the vehicle journey.
Its target customers include automotive manufacturers, OEMs, dealership groups, fleet operators, shipping companies and logistics providers.
“For years, customers have trusted Sallaum Lines to move vehicles across oceans with reliability, discipline and care. Sallaum Logistics carries that commitment further inland,” said Sami Sallaum, Chairman of Sallaum Lines.
Initial fleet of 50 trucks
Sallaum Logistics will launch with 50 truck-and-trailer units and plans to expand towards 300 owned trucks by 2029.
Its multi-car transporters will be capable of carrying up to 10 vehicles, depending on the vehicle type, route and national road regulations.
The company will use a combination of owned and strategically leased vehicles as it expands its operations.
The new business will provide finished vehicle logistics services between European factories, inland terminals and ports.
Services will also include cross-border transportation, fleet distribution and port-to-dealer deliveries. Vehicle processing, pre-delivery inspections and storage will be offered at selected locations, building on existing operations at the Port of Antwerp.
Operations across major European markets
Sallaum Logistics will initially operate across Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, France, the Czech Republic and Poland.
Its network will focus on major automotive corridors across Western and Central Europe.
Key gateways will include Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Marseille, alongside inland vehicle distribution hubs. Further expansion into other port-connected European markets is planned.
The company will also use GPS tracking, telematics and route optimisation systems to improve visibility and delivery coordination. Further investment in digital customer reporting and visibility platforms is planned as the network expands.
“Sallaum Logistics was created to make inland vehicle movement simpler, more visible and more dependable,” said Edvinas Rybelis, CEO of Sallaum Logistics.
“Our ambition is to give customers confidence in every stage of the inland journey,” he added.
