Rohlig SUUS Logistics has launched two new direct groupage routes from Brno to Sofia and Bucharest, enhancing its network in Southeast Europe.
These new lines, part of the operator’s extensive European network and logistics hubs in Central and Eastern Europe, can also support supply chains for businesses in Northern and Western Europe. Previously, the company offered direct general cargo routes to Turkey and Greece.
The new weekly services will have transit times ranging from 48 to 72 hours. The first route connects Brno with Sofia and includes an option for deliveries to Georgia. The second route travels from Brno to Bucharest via Cluj, developed through collaboration between Rohlig SUUS Logistics branches in the Czech Republic and Romania.
“We are seeing growing customer interest in the Balkan and Southeast European destinations. Therefore, we decided to open two new general cargo lines in this direction from the Czech Republic, which is an excellent logistics hub for northern and western Europe as well. Thanks to this, the route can be an attractive connection for companies from those parts of the continent,” mentioned Piotr Szałkiewicz, European Road Network Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics.
Rohlig SUUS Logistics operates logistics centres in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, and recently, Hungary. The Brno facility, from which these services are managed, spans 12,500 square meters and provides various contract logistics services including warehousing, co-packing, labelling, and temporary storage.
These new groupage connections are also vital for integrating global supply chains, allowing customers to import or export goods from Asia, Latin America, or the United States.
“Until now, we have provided general cargo services to Southern and Eastern Europe, including Turkey, Greece, and Italy, among others. In the past, shipments to Bulgaria and Romania were consolidated via our terminal in Cracow. Therefore, the routes from Brno to Sofia and Bucharest significantly increase our operational capabilities in this region and
speed up transit times for our customers. An important element in the efficiency of our services is the properly developed transportation infrastructure in Europe, including key arteries such as the E60, E65, E68, and E75, connecting the Czech Republic with the area of our new lines,” stated Pavel Vrajík, International Road Freight Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics.
