Petrolesport adds two new reachstackers to its cargo handling equipment fleet

Petrolesport (PLP), a multifunctional marine terminal in the Big Port of Saint Petersburg has put into operation two new reachstackers with increased loading capacity.

PLP is a part of the Global Ports Group, the largest operator of container terminals in the Russian market by capacity and container throughput.

In particular, the new equipment, supplied by major Chinese manufacturer Sany, has a lifting capacity of 45 tonnes and is highly manoeuvrable.

Also, the reachstackers can handle all types of containers and non-containerised cargo and will help increase the speed and efficiency of cargo operations.

With two new units, Petrolesport now has 13 reachstackers in operation. Global Ports Group has announced it will acquire three more heavy lifters during the first half of 2023, extending the terminal’s reachstacker fleet by 45% to 16 units.
