Panama’s Ports dispute could become everyone’s playbook

CK Hutchison’s $1.5 billion claim against Panama is less a lawsuit than a demonstration and the industry watching it learn the lesson is bigger than the Canal.

On 20 August, CK Hutchison Holdings filed a fourth legal front against Panama, seeking more than US$1.5 billion in treaty-arbitration damages over the loss of the Balboa and Cristóbal terminals.
