OOCL commences new service in Europe – East Coast South America network

COSCO-owned ocean carrier Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) announced a new service connecting Europe with East Coast South America.

OOCL expects to launch its new product in September aiming to enhance its network coverage in Latin America.

The new Europe East Coast South America Express (EEX) will provide direct connections between Europe and Brazil.

“With an attractive transit time of only 16 days from Rio De Janeiro to Rotterdam, this new service is designed to meet the refrigerated container demand from East Coast South America to Europe,” said OOCL in a statement.

The port rotation of the EEX service will be Rotterdam (Netherlands) – London Gateway (UK) – Hamburg (Germany) – Antwerp (Belgium) – Lisbon (Portugal) – Algeciras (Spain) – Santos (Brazil) – Paranagua (Brazil) – Montevideo (Uruguay) – Buenos Aires (Argentina) – Algeciras – Rotterdam.

The service is scheduled to commence on 16 September, when the 4,050 TEU boxship Xin Nan Tong is estimated to arrive at the port of Montevideo.
