Ocean Network Express has provided an update on several regulatory and tariff adjustments taking effect from July 1, 2026, covering environmental compliance obligations under both EU and UK emissions trading frameworks and a quarterly revision to its bunker surcharge.
Effective July 1, 2026, ONE will commence the mandatory surrender of United Kingdom Allowances for 100% of its verified greenhouse gas emissions within the regulatory scope of the newly expanded UK Emissions Trading Scheme.
In line with this obligation, the Europe Environment Surcharge coverage will be extended to include all cargo moving into and out of the United Kingdom from this date.
From January 1, 2026, the EU Emissions Trading System entered its full compliance phase, requiring the mandatory surrender of European Union Allowances covering 100% of verified emissions within the regulatory scope, up from 70% in 2025.
The Europe Environment Surcharge introduced on January 1, 2025 continues to apply in alignment with these evolving regulatory requirements.
Also, ONE has completed its quarterly review of the ONE Bunker Surcharge tariff. The revised rates will take effect from July 1, 2026, with the tariff subject to quarterly review going forward.
