Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced an update to its Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS), reflecting ongoing changes in fuel costs and market conditions.
The revised surcharge will apply across all major trade lanes, including long-haul and short sea services. For long-haul head haul trades, the EFS will be set at USD 120 per TEU for dry containers and USD 160 per TEU for reefer units. On back haul routes, the surcharge will be USD 60 per TEU for dry cargo and USD 80 per TEU for reefers.
For short sea trades, the surcharge will be fixed at USD 60 per TEU for dry containers and USD 80 per TEU for reefer units.
The updated charges will take effect from May 1, 2026, for both non-FMC and FMC-regulated trades, including shipments involving the United States, Canada and associated territories.
ONE said the surcharge remains subject to regulatory approvals and will stay in place until further notice.
The company added that it will continue to monitor market conditions closely and may adjust the surcharge as needed, depending on developments in fuel costs and the broader shipping environment.
