ONE launches new rail and sea solution in India

Ocean Network Express (ΟΝΕ) introduces a new gateway for its customers in India’s Kolkata and Haldia.

Export and import cargo can now be seamlessly routed through Balmer Lawrie CFS, utilizing rail services to connect with mainline vessels at Nhava Sheva Port. This enhanced connectivity ensures direct access to major global destinations, including the United States, Europe, the Mediterranean, and Africa.

Inbound shipments will also benefit from this streamlined service, according to ONE’s announcement, with cargo arriving at Nhava Sheva Port from mainline vessels and transported efficiently by rail to Balmer Lawrie CFS in Kolkata for final delivery.

Key Features of the new service will include scheduled train departures every Thursday from Balmer Lawrie CFS, Kolkata, with a Wednesday cargo cut-off, export cargo transported via rail connects directly to mainline vessels at Nhava Sheva Port, import cargo discharged at Nhava Sheva Port and moved seamlessly by rail to Kolkata, reduced waiting times at transshipment points such as Singapore, Port Klang, and Colombo for connections to mainline and feeder vessels and significant improvements in point-to-point transit time, offering greater consistency and reliability to plan your shipments efficiently.
