Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced alterations in its intra-Asia service network, which will include new products and upgraded services that will come into effect by the next month.
As part of this latest revamp of the network, MSC has announced the launch of a new service, named Dolphin, which will offer connection from China to Indonesia and between Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and China.
Dolphin service will have the following port rotation:
Shanghai – Ningbo – Xiamen – Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Jakarta – Surabaya – Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Vung Tau – Shanghai
MSC Cape III will be deployed on the first sailing of the new service with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) at Shanghai on 2 November.
Additionally, the Swiss/Italian container carrier has announced the revision of Seagull and Orchid services. Seagull will see a newly added call to China at the port of Xiamen and a revised Malaysia rotation, while Orchid will have a revised rotation in South China and an adjusted Malaysia rotation.
The port rotation of Orchid service will be Fuzhou – Shantou – Hong Kong – Shekou – Yantian – Haiphong – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Port Klang – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Haiphong – Nansha – Hong Kong – Fuzhou
Furthermore, the world’s largest box line will upgrade its New Origami and Seahorse services. MSC will offer new connections from Japan and South Korea to Vietnam and from the Philippines and Taiwan to South Korea and Japan via New Origami service, and enhanced transit time from China and Taiwan to Malaysia and Singapore in Seahorse service.

New Origami service
Tokyo – Yokohama – Yokkaichi – Nagoya – Busan – Vung Tau – Tanjung Pelepas – Singapore – Subic – Manila North Habor – Kaohsiung – Busan – Tokyo
Seahorse service
Shanghai – Ningbo – Kaohsiung – Port Klang – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Qinzhou – Hong Kong – Shanghai
Upgraded New Origami and Seahorse services will begin on 30 October and 4 November respectively.
“These enhancements to our intra-Asia network offer direct connections and comprehensive port coverage between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia, while maintaining competitive transit times for long-haul cargo,” stated MSC.
Meanwhile, the company has already announced the upgrade of Bengal service, which now includes new calls in China and South Korea on the following port rotation:
Qingdao – Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Chattogram – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Hong Kong – Qingdao.
The first sailing of the upgraded Bengal service will be MSC Emily II, on voyage SX241A, with an ETA on 12 October 2022.
Additionally, MSC’s Pertiwi service, announced on 2 June and launched in July, directly links North China and South Korea to Southeast Asia.
The service rotation is Busan – Qingdao – Incheon – Dalian – Tianjin Xingang – Vung Tau – Laem Chabang – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Jakarta – Panjang – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Busan
