Maersk has announced a revision of its Maersk Cargo Insurance and Maersk Cargo Care rates for ocean shipments loaded or discharged in ports across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Israel.
The updated pricing will take effect from April 13, 2026 for non-FMC trade lanes and from May 13, 2026 for FMC-regulated trades, and will remain in place until further notice.
According to the company, the rate increase reflects heightened risks of cargo damage in the affected markets, prompting an upward adjustment across all coverage tiers.
Under the revised structure, cargo insurance rates for dry shipments range from USD 290 to USD 1,596 for Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and from USD 309 to USD 1,696 for Israel and the UAE, depending on the selected coverage package. For temperature-controlled cargo, rates range from USD 480 to USD 2,599 for Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and from USD 499 to USD 2,699 for Israel and the UAE.
Property coverage under cargo insurance has also been adjusted, with basic packages set at USD 1,214 and USD 1,259, and premium options at USD 1,909 and USD 1,969, depending on origin and destination.
Similarly, Maersk Cargo Care rates have been revised upward. Dry cargo packages now range from USD 268 to USD 1,368 for Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and from USD 287 to USD 1,468 for Israel and the UAE. For temperature-controlled shipments, rates vary between USD 280 and USD 1,679, and USD 299 and USD 1,779, respectively.
Property-related cargo care packages are priced between USD 770 and USD 1,110 for Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, and between USD 815 and USD 1,170 for Israel and the UAE.
The company clarified that for non-spot bookings, rates are determined based on the price calculation date, which corresponds to the scheduled departure date of the first ocean leg for non-FMC trades, and the last container gate-in date for FMC trades. For spot bookings, the applicable rate is based on the booking confirmation date.
Maersk also noted that the revised rates are subject to additional applicable surcharges, including local and contingency charges, and remain independent of any tariffs filed in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
