Maersk introduces Omnichannel-Fulfillment capabilities to support retail campaigns

Singles Day, also known as Double Eleven, is a major E-commerce event that began in China. This year’s shopping festival, which officially began on 1 November, ended with US$156 billion in estimated sales, according to data provider Syntun.

Maersk has unveiled powerful Omnichannel-Fulfillment (OCF) capabilities for 56 important clients across 16 OCF sites in China to support Double Eleven retail campaigns. The team managed 8.15 million outbound orders totalling more than 16 million pieces. This is a greater than 26% increase in order volume over 2022. Top premium brands such as Erno Laszlo and Lacoste are among the customers.

“During Double Eleven, the sales volume surges to unprecedented levels, reaching more than 10 times, or even 30 times of normal volume. By meticulous preparation and planning and through seamless collaboration with various teams, we are able to offer integrated services for customers across multiple verticals, including home product, footwear & apparel, fashion, FMCG, cosmetics, and technology, among others,” stated Sophy Chen, head of OCF China account management, Jiangsu & North China operation.

Maersk’s increased OCF capabilities demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing integrated logistics solutions for clients such as Erno Laszlo and Lacoste, allowing their companies to grow, particularly in the fast-paced world of E-commerce.

According to a statement, the Chinese e-commerce business has seen significant changes in recent years, with new online channels developing alongside a strong recovery in offline consumption. Maersk remains dedicated to integrating and simplifying our customers’ supply chains through integrated end-to-end solutions, creating strong partnerships with customers, and aggressively exploring new areas of collaboration in response to these dynamic trends.

“Maersk Omnichannel-Fulfillment has played a pivotal role in resolving our supply chain challenges, from the products leaving the factory to the warehouse, product storage, and distribution to the end customers. The team has consistently demonstrated their professionalism, efficiency, and commitment to meeting our specific requirements. I believe that we will have further opportunities for collaboration in the future, enabling our company to achieve our growth targets,” added Jeffrey Zhu, senior supply chain manager of Lacoste China.
