The major high sulphur fuel, 380HFO, saw a slight gain today (March 24) and that is a result of the increases in North Europe and South America. In particular, Port of Rotterdam recorded a gain of US$9.5/tonne, while Port of Houston saw a US$4.5/tonne increase, according to Ship & Bunker.
At the same time, VSLFO fell by US$1/tonne globally to US$329/tonne. As a result, the fuel spread between 380HFO and VLSFO remains at the same levels.
In addition, MGO saw a US$2.88/tonne drop with a big regional gain of US$13.75/tonne in North Europe and large declines in North America and Africa & Middle East of US$11.75/tonne and US$10/tonne respectively.
