Le Havre welcomes its first pink ONE ship

Port of Le Havre hosted the first stop of a ship of the Japanese company ONE (Ocean Network Express) wearing the magenta hue chosen to serve as a reference for the sixth world armament and symbolizing the color of cherry blossoms.

In Japan, the contemplation of cherry trees, called Hanami, is the heiress of a historical philosophical movement, the Mono No Aware which invites to marvel at the present moment. The cherry blossom also invites us to look to the future: messenger of a spring that is coming ... For the record, a cherry tree has been planted in Le Havre for twenty years of twinning between the ports of Osaka and Le Havre .

The ONE Continuity Container Ship is part of the Japan Fleet operated entirely by Japanese armaments for THE Alliance: ten vessels in the fleet serve Le Havre, Singapore, Kobe, Nagoya, Shimizu, Tokyo, Singapore, Jeddah, then back to Northern Europe.
The Japan service of THE Alliance, as well as two other services of the same alliance, are handled on Port 2000 by the General Port Handling (GMP).

This inaugural stopover is also an opportunity to recall the close ties between the port of Le Havre and Japan. For example, the twinning with the port of Osaka in 1980 and more recently the partnership agreement signed on October 16 with the port of Nagoya, thus contributing to the expansion of the commercial and industrial activities of each partner. Asia accounts for almost 60% of Le Havre's port activity.
