Kalmar to equip terminals in Mexico and Panama

Kalmar has signed two separate orders with SSA Marine to supply a total of 36 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors.

The first agreement for 12 machines is for the Cargotec subsidiary’s Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT) in Panama. The second agreement for 24 machines is for SSA Mexico in Colima, Mexico. Both contracts are booked in Cargotec’s 2020 Q1 order intake, with delivery scheduled to take place during Q2 of 2020.

SSA Marine has marine terminal and rail yard operations in more than 250 strategic locations across five continents around the world. The new terminal tractors will be used to transport containers from the quay to the yard at MIT and Colima, both of which are RTG terminals.

Kalmar says that the Ottawa T2 Terminal Tractor is available in DOT/EPA-certified and off-road configurations, the T2 is a purpose-built truck featuring an ergonomic cab design, fast fifth-wheel lifting and easy-access service points to speed up routine checks and servicing.
