Kalmar has signed a framework service agreement with Volvo Penta, a global player in integrated power solutions, becoming an authorized service provider for Volvo Penta engines used in Kalmar and Toijala Works machines.
This collaboration, finalized in the third quarter of 2024, will enhance service capabilities by leveraging both companies’ extensive service networks.
“Adding value for owners and operators of machines powered by Volvo Penta is of utmost importance to us. The framework service agreement is proof of this and a result of the close cooperation we have with Kalmar,” stated Björn Säljö, Vice President of Service Market Industrial at Volvo Penta.
Volvo Penta, part of the Volvo Group, is a top supplier of engines and power systems for marine and industrial applications, providing engines for approximately 50% of Kalmar’s machines.
Under the agreement, Kalmar technicians will be authorized to perform service and repair work on Volvo Penta engines, covering both warranty and post-warranty services. Initially, the agreement will cover Italy, Spain, South Africa, and Norway, with plans to expand to additional countries in coordination with Volvo Penta and its service dealer network.
“We are delighted to continue our long-term collaboration with Volvo Penta. This framework agreement significantly enhances our service offering and value proposition and marks a transformative step for our operations and service capabilities. As an authorised Volvo Penta service partner we will be able to reduce downtime and improve productivity for customers who own machines powered by Volvo Penta engines,” added Thomas Malmborg, President of Kalmar Services.
