Hapag-Lloyd, Heavy Lift Charge

Hapag-Lloyd will re-implement the Heavy Lift Charge (HLC) for all 20’ container types on the westbound trade from East Asia (including Japan) to Mediterranean.

Effective for sailings as of August 15, 2018 and valid until further notice, the HLC from East Asia (including Japan) to Mediterranean will be as follows:

  • USD 200 per 20’ container over 18 tons payload
  • USD 250 per 20’ container over 23 tons payload

The Ocean Tariff rates as well as Bunker-related surcharges, Security-related surcharges, Terminal Handling Charges (THCs) remain unchanged respectively as announced and can be found here.

Other local charges and contingency surcharges may apply in addition.
