Hapag-Lloyd will update its Dangerous Goods Premium (DGP) for shipments from Europe to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The updated surcharge will take effect on 1 September 2026 and will remain in place until further notice.
DGP set at US$1,000 per container
The surcharge applies to cargo moving from North Europe and the Mediterranean Sea to Jeddah.
Hapag-Lloyd will charge US$1,000 per container for all container types carrying dangerous goods.
However, cargo classified under Dangerous Goods Classes 1 and 7 is excluded from the DGP.
The new level applies to all sailings commencing from 1 September.
Hapag-Lloyd said its Ocean Tariff rates remain unchanged. Bunker-related and security-related surcharges also remain as previously announced.
Terminal Handling Charges (THCs) are also unaffected by the update. However, local and contingency charges may apply.
