Hapag-Lloyd is set to apply a peak season surcharge (PSS) on cargo moving from the Far East to North Europe and the Mediterranean, effective June 8, 2026, until further notice.

The surcharge covers all container types, including 20-foot and 40-foot dry, reefer and special containers, as well as high-cube equipment. It applies to all sailings commencing on or after the tariff date.

The charge is set at USD 500 per 20-foot container and USD 1,000 per 40-foot container.

All existing ocean tariff rates, bunker-related surcharges, security-related surcharges and terminal handling charges remain unchanged. Local and contingency charges may also apply.
