Globe Tracker equips Maritima Alisea reefers with IoT technology

Globe Tracker, provider of Internet of Things (IoT) tracking and monitoring solutions for logistics assets, has deployed IoT devices installed on reefer containers of Maritima Alisea, one of the premier ocean carriers involved in the perishable trade in Spain.

Maritima Alisea has a modern fleet of 45′ refrigerated containers and is part of Alonso Group logistics division.

According to Globe Tracker, the move re-enforces a market trend for many maritime shipping companies to implement new technologies as the industry heads towards further automation and digitalisation.

In addition, perishables are the perfect application for this remote monitoring technology as it provides streamlined 24/7/365 visibility for the shipments and at the same time, it can also improve compliance, improve food safety and creates a platform for future advances in food transportation.
