Geodis to offer humanitarian aid in Ukraine

The transport and logistics provider Geodis will offer humanitarian help to the people of Ukraine through the mobilisation of the group’s logistics capabilities for the transportation of essential goods, as well as a fundraising initiative in collaboration with the French Red Cross.

The French group explained that it will provide free transport and storage of goods from France and other European Union countries to the regions that have taken in Ukrainian refugees.

To deliver these services, local teams of the company will establish warehouse sites in strategic locations close to the Ukrainian border, to support the humanitarian aid and relief efforts.

“We want to express our support for the Ukrainian people, who are experiencing the horror of the conflict,” stated Marie-Christine Lombard, CEO of Geodis.

The management of Geodis has also decided to support the French Red Cross in its operations through a fundraising campaign, which will be open for all employees of the group to contribute to.

Particularly, every euro donated will be matched by Geodis on a one-for-one basis and all donations will be used to support people directly affected by the conflict.

Products such as water, basic necessities, medical supplies, first aid, as well as psychological and social support, will be provided to them, according to the transport group.

“Our network and our teams, whether at head office or at the local level, are fully dedicated to facilitating the flow of goods linked to international solidarity,” noted Lombard.
