GEODIS to acquire Malherbe, expand French road network

GEODIS has signed an agreement to acquire Malherbe, a leading full truckload (FTL) road freight operator in France. The move will expand GEODIS’s national network and reinforce its presence in the agri-food and mass retail sectors.

The integration of Malherbe will improve network density and service quality across France. It also positions GEODIS as a major player in the transition toward decarbonized road transport. The acquisition is expected to place GEODIS among the top three providers for full and less-than-full truckloads in the country, with combined revenue of €2 billion.

Marie-Christine Lombard, CEO of GEODIS, said, “Integrating Malherbe is a strategic step to build a more resilient and sustainable nationwide network. Together, we will deliver operational excellence, environmental performance, and strategic autonomy in logistics.”

Founded in 1956, Malherbe operates through 40 branches across France. It has a fleet of around 1,500 trucks and employs more than 3,300 people nationwide. Since 2024, Malherbe has implemented a program to diversify energy sources, electrify its fleet gradually, and install charging infrastructure, aligning with GEODIS’s sustainability goals.

The acquisition will be finalized after completing customary regulatory formalities.
