GEODIS has opened its first directly owned freight forwarding office in the Philippines, replacing its previous agent-based model in the country.
Located in Manila, the new operation will provide air and ocean freight services, project logistics and supply chain management. It will also give customers in the Philippines direct access to the company’s global logistics network.
GEODIS shifts from agent model
The move gives GEODIS a direct presence in the Philippines as demand for international logistics services grows across the country.
Through the Manila office, GEODIS will manage customer operations locally rather than relying on an agent. The company said this will provide greater control over its services and improve supply chain visibility for customers.
“The Philippines is becoming an increasingly important market for high-value manufacturing and technology supply chains,” said Eric Martin-Neuville, Regional President & CEO, Asia Pacific & Middle East, GEODIS.
He added that establishing its own operation will allow GEODIS to work more closely with customers while connecting them directly with its international network.
Investment supports logistics demand
GEODIS is expanding its presence as the Philippines attracts growing investment in manufacturing, technology and other higher-value industries.
According to figures cited by the company, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority approved PHP151.9 billion in new and expansion projects during the first seven months of 2026. This represented a 67% increase compared with the same period last year.
The approved projects are expected to generate around US$5.9 billion in exports, with manufacturing accounting for a significant share.
Trade flows have also been expanding. Total Philippine external trade in goods reached a record US$218.68 billion in 2025, representing an 8.9% year-on-year increase.
Manila office expands GEODIS network
The new office strengthens GEODIS’ presence in Southeast Asia and provides a local base for companies moving goods to and from the Philippines.
Its services will cover both air and ocean freight, alongside project logistics and supply chain optimisation. The operation will also support customers looking for direct access to GEODIS’ wider international network.
