CMA CGM announces new West Africa surcharges

French box line CMA CGM has announced an upcoming Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), effective from 1 April and valid until further notice.

The company will apply a surcharge of US$700 per reefer container from Mauritania to West Africa.

Furthermore, due to recent operational constraints in Europe and West Africa, CMA CGM is implementing an Emergency Operational Recovery surcharge to maintain service continuity.

Effective from 1 April, a surcharge of US$100 per container will be implemented for all cargo shipped from North Europe, the West Mediterranean, the East Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and North Africa (including Morocco) to West Africa.

Additionally, starting 20 April 2025, the same surcharge of US$100 per container will apply to all cargo shipped from North America and Latin America—including Central America, the West Coast and East Coast of South America, and the Caribbean—to West Africa.
