CMA CGM, Shanghai International Port Group extend Terminal Stevedoring Agreement

French shipping company CMA CGM and the terminal operator Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) jointly held a strategic Terminal Stevedoring Agreement (TSA) extension signing ceremony on 28 February in Shanghai, China.

The cooperation between the two parties has yielded positive results over the recent years, according to the statement, and several achievements have been made in areas such as pioneering LNG bunkering in Shanghai, facilitating the systematic shore powering connections during port calls, improving full and empty container dispatch to and from the yard.

Additionally, CMA CGM and SIPG plan new cooperation regarding the future storage and bunkering of biomethanol at the port of Shanghai.

In the presence of Rodolphe Saadé, Chairman and CEO of CMA CGM, and Gu Jinshan, Chairman of SIPG, Christine CABAU, Executive Vice President Assets Group & Operations and James WANG, Vice President of SIPG signed the TSA Extension.

James Wang, Vice-President of SIPG said, “Under this TSA extension, CMA CGM and SIPG work together to promote the diversified development of the logistics industry in Shanghai Port, enhance the service function of Shanghai Port as a global shipping hub, and help upgrade the construction of Shanghai International Shipping Center from ‘basic completion’ to ‘full completion’.”

Christine Cabau Woehrel, Executive Vice President of Operations and Assets at the CMA CGM Group, stated, “We aim at pushing efficiencies beyond the plain ship/quay experience. Our renewed partnership is aiming at continuously pushing further the limits of operational efficiency, making this a greener win-win experience for the terminal, for the shipping line and above all for our freight customers who benefit from this enhanced fluidity at the port.”
