CMA CGM introduces congestion surcharge in Gambia

French ocean carrier CMA CGM has announced the implementation of a port congestion surcharge (PCS) at Gambia’s port of Banjul.

The surcharge will take effect from 15 December and will apply to cargo originating from the Far East, including China, Hong Kong & Macau SAR, North East Asia, and South East Asia, and destined for Banjul, Gambia.

The surcharge will be applicable only to dry cargo and has been set at US$500 per container.
