CMA CGM applies overweight surcharge from India to Africa

CMA CGM notified its customers of a new Overweight Surcharge (OWS) for shipments from India to West and South Africa ports.

This surcharge applies immediately to dry cargo containers with a gross weight exceeding 25 tons.

The following Indian ports include Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Tuticorin, Hazira, Cochin, and Mangalore, with destinations spanning Cotonou, Benin for West Africa, and Durban & Port Elizabeth for South Africa.

The surcharge amount is US$250 per 20-foot dry container meeting the specified weight criteria.
