CMA CGM and NEOLINE add Zeebrugge to wind-powered transatlantic service

NEOLINER ORIGIN

CMA CGM and NEOLINE have added Zeebrugge as a new port of call on the wind-powered NEOLINER ORIGIN transatlantic service.

The addition expands the service’s connections between Europe and North America.

Zeebrugge joins transatlantic rotation

With the new call, the service connects Zeebrugge, Montoir, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Baltimore and Halifax.

CMA CGM said the service operates without transshipment and is available through its booking network.

It can handle several cargo types, including dry cargo, Ro-Ro, reefer and out-of-gauge (OOG) shipments.

Wind-powered freight service

NEOLINER ORIGIN uses wind propulsion as a key part of its transatlantic operations.

The service combines NEOLINE’s wind-powered shipping model with CMA CGM’s commercial network and booking capabilities.

CMA CGM described the partnership as part of efforts to provide lower-carbon freight options on transatlantic trades.

The addition of Zeebrugge further extends the European reach of the service.
