Chiquita’s Great White Fleet orders 800 Carrier Transicold’s PrimeLINE reefers

Chiquita Brands’ Great White Fleet has boosted its investment in Carrier Transicold PrimeLINE® container refrigeration equipment.

Great White Fleet added 800 PrimeLINE units to transport bananas from Central America to North America, based on the proven performance and energy efficiency of its current PrimeLINE units.

“Energy conservation is vital to Great White Fleet’s green transportation initiatives, and we are pleased that PrimeLINE not only reduces fuel consumption related to shipboard power generation but also reduces emissions proportionately, helping us to shrink our carbon footprint,” stated Stefano Di Paolo, president of Great White Fleet.

Carrier Transicold is a subsidiary of Carrier Global Corporation, a provider of intelligent climate and energy solutions.

Carrier Transicold says the PrimeLINE unit has efficient performance, thanks to its energy-conserving digital scroll compressor, fast temperature pull-down with an economised vapor injection system, precise temperature control within +/- 0.25 degree Celsius, high air flow, attributed to its aerospace-inspired fan design and excellent cost of ownership thanks to its efficiency and rugged design.
