cargo-partner joins United Nations Global Compact

Global transportation and logistics provider cargo-partner has joined the UN Global Compact, a United Nations project that encourages businesses throughout the world to adopt and report on sustainable and socially responsible practices.

The UN Global Compact is a voluntary project which motivates companies to align their plans and operations with universal human rights, labor, environmental, and anti-corruption principles, as well as to take activities that advance societal aims.

The program, which was officially launched in 2000, now includes 13,000 business participants and other stakeholders from over 170 countries. Regular reporting holds participants responsible, and they are encouraged to promote change through new ideas and collaborations.

“Our 40-year journey is not just a testament to our growth, but also to our enduring commitment to environmental and social responsibility. By joining the UN Global Compact, we affirm our dedication to promoting sustainability in the logistics sector, enforcing responsible business practices, and contributing to a more sustainable future globally,” stated Stefan Krauter, founder and CEO of cargo-partner.

To reduce its carbon footprint, cargo-partner has been a pioneer in embracing eco-friendly alternatives and setting ambitious emission objectives.

The iLogistics Center at Vienna Airport, which opened in 2018 and was built with award-winning wooden architecture, exemplifies the cargo partner’s commitment to sustainability. A rising number of photovoltaic installations at cargo-partner locations throughout the world let the logistics company utilize renewable energy.

Furthermore, the company actively promotes the development of fuel-efficient aircraft, electric vehicles, and a variety of other initiatives targeted at facilitating the global transition to sustainable transportation and logistics technology.

In addition, cargo-partner has ISO 14001 certifications in many countries, demonstrating its excellent environmental management standards, and numerous digitization projects have resulted in considerable resource consumption reductions.

“The global climate crisis is one of the most important challenges of our time, and our dedication to sustainability remains unwavering. We will continue to minimize our environmental impact and support all stakeholders in making their operations more sustainable. Together, we are building a better world for both current and future generations,” said Stefan Krauter.
