Iraq’s Basra Gateway Container Terminal (BGT), operated by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) at the Port of Umm Qasr, has been equipped with a new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.8 mobile harbour crane (MHC).

With a lifting capacity of 125 tons and a 54-meter boom, the crane is capable of handling vessels up to post-Panamax size, enhancing BGT’s operational efficiency.

Moreover, this acquisition is part of BGT’s ongoing effort to modernize Iraq’s busiest port and provide reliable, sustainable services to its customers, according to ICTSI’s announcement.
