APM Terminals is set to launch its “Clean Truck Express” lane at Pier 400 in Los Angeles today (5 December).
Exclusively designed for vehicles enrolled in the Port of Los Angeles “Clean Truck Program,” this dedicated lane is an initiative by APM Terminals aiming to streamline gate-in processes for customers.
The primary goal is to reduce gate-in times for customers, thereby minimising energy
consumption, promoting lowering emissions, and improving operational efficiency.
“This initiative is not just about reducing emissions; it’s about redefining industry standards and helping our customers and communities transition towards sustainable supply chains,” stated Jon Poelma, managing director of APM Terminals Pier 400.
As part of its broader ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, APM Terminals is globally committed to expanding access to sustainable logistics. The introduction of Pier 400’s express lane was initially piloted by APM Terminals Gothenburg in Sweden.
