AD Ports Group launches multimodal inland logistics network

AD Ports Group has established a multimodal inland logistics network connecting dry ports, cargo depots and industrial zones.

AD Ports Group has announced the establishment of a consolidated multimodal inland logistics network connecting rail-linked dry ports, cargo depots and industrial zones across the UAE, designed to position Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals as dual gateways for UAE industrial cargo.

The network incorporates KEZAD Group’s Industry City of Abu Dhabi and will enhance the movement of industrial cargo across the UAE and the wider region.

In support of the initiative, AD Ports Group signed Memoranda of Understanding with four leading UAE manufacturers as anchor industrial cargo clients: Emirates Global Aluminium, EMSTEEL Group, Al Ghurair Iron and Steel, and Tenaris.

The agreements position these industrial champions as foundational users of the rail-linked inland logistics network, providing the commercial base around which the broader ecosystem will be developed.

The network is designed to enable more reliable inbound flows of industrial feedstock and raw materials to UAE manufacturers while offering greater flexibility for outbound distribution of finished and semi-finished goods through multiple inland and gateway options.

By connecting Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals to rail-linked inland dry ports and cargo depots, the system strengthens corridor resilience, reduces dependence on single gateways and improves access to both domestic and regional markets.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, described the network as a strengthening of the UAE’s industrial logistics backbone, enhancing commercial utilisation of the country’s national rail infrastructure while providing manufacturers with improved access to industrial inputs and greater export flexibility.

The initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader industrial growth agenda and supports long-term competitiveness for national supply chains across KEZAD and other industrial sectors throughout the emirate.
