ABP appoints new Head of Human Resources for Southampton

Associated British Ports (ABP) has appointed Kate Cornhill as the new Head of Human Resources (HR) for the Port of Southampton, who will take duties on 11 October.

Kate Cornhill is currently the Senior People Director at Carnival United Kingdom (UK) which is owned by the world’s largest cruise ship operator, the American-British Carnival Corporation & plc., and includes the cruise lines P&O Cruises & Cunard.

The UK’s leading port owner and operator expects that the new Head of Human Resources will bring expertise from her current role in recruitment for the maritime industry, as well as experience from previous senior HR positions.

We welcome the recruitment of someone of Kate’s caliber to lead the development of our workforce while we continue to build our team across the region, with the recent launch of ABP’s new Horizon Cruise Terminal, the private 5G network and a new automotive terminal operating system at Southampton, stated Alastair Welch, ABP’s Regional Director for Southampton.
