Zelus acquires Munck to boost Canada crane operations

Zelus Material Handling Inc. has acquired Munck Cranes Inc. The deal strengthens Zelus’ position as a national leader in overhead crane manufacturing and service in Canada.

Zelus is part of the Ardent Group of Companies. Munck is one of Canada’s most established crane manufacturers. The acquisition brings two respected Canadian brands together. It also expands Zelus’ national reach, manufacturing capacity, and service coverage.

Munck was founded in 1983. The company built a strong reputation for innovation, reliability, and Canadian-made products. Zelus and Munck will now combine their technical expertise, production facilities, and service teams. Together, they will serve customers in construction, manufacturing, energy, and logistics.

“This acquisition is a natural next step for both companies,” said Simon Abdelmalak, General Manager of Zelus Material Handling. “Munck has a strong legacy in Canada. By bringing its people and products into Zelus, we strengthen our commitment to Canadian-built quality and dependable customer support.”

Zelus will keep Munck’s operations running during the transition. Customers will continue to receive uninterrupted service. Ardent’s service model will also support inspection, training, and manufacturing excellence.

“We see this as a major opportunity to strengthen Canadian industry,” said Bryan White, Co-President of Ardent Industries. “Zelus and Munck share the same values. Together, they create one of the most trusted material handling teams in the country.”

Jason White, Co-President of Ardent Industries, said the acquisition supports Ardent’s long-term growth strategy. “We aim to build strong Canadian brands. This move supports that goal. It also helps Zelus expand while staying focused on quality, people, and customer service.”

Zelus now operates one of Canada’s largest crane service networks. The company employs more than 55 field technicians. It runs multiple fabrication facilities. Customers also gain access to inspection services, spare parts, and training through Engaged Training Solutions.
