Yasa extends partnership with Weathernews

One of Türkiye’s leading ship owners, Yasa, has signed a new three-year agreement with global weather intelligence provider Weathernews to continue using its comprehensive performance monitoring platform.

For the past two years, Yasa has subscribed to Weathernews’ industry-leading SeaNavigator platform and will maintain its premium package, which offers route optimization, precise vessel performance monitoring, and full environmental compliance support.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Weathernews, a global leader in maritime weather and navigation services. Their cutting-edge solutions and accurate forecasts have been instrumental in enhancing the safety and efficiency of our operations at sea. Weathernews’ expertise and innovative approach make them an indispensable partner in tackling the challenges of maritime logistics. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together,” stated Capt. Serkan Ozturk of Yasa.

The premium package includes CII (Carbon Intensity Index), EU ETS, CO2 Emissions Monitoring Service (ESM), and Fuel EU reporting. The contract covers Yasa’s entire fleet of bulkers and tankers, including future vessel acquisitions.

Weathernews’ in-house meteorologists and voyage planners provide daily communication with ships across Yasa’s fleet, while regular workshops with the company’s operations team ensure ongoing optimization. Continuous performance monitoring allows for accurate voyage audit reports, and upon request, Weathernews delivers Optimum Ship Routeing (OSR) services to further enhance efficiency across Yasa’s bulk and tanker fleet.

“On the back of a strong relationship forged over the past two years, we are naturally very happy that Yasa’s top management has opted to continue to work with us. They assessed the competition but we remained their top choice, which is a robust vote of confidence in our platform and technology,” commented Filotas Paschos, Business Development Manager at Weathernews.
