Yang Ming reports crew member’s death on board YM Truth

Yang Ming has announced that one of the crew members of the 12,726TEU vessel, YM Truth, has passed away in an incident before the ship’s arrival at the Port of Yantian in China.

The cause of the crew member’s death is still unknown.

“As of now, the ship owner of the above chartering vessel is making necessary arrangements for this incident,” said the Taiwanese container line in its announcement.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, which have been tightened recently, it is expected the vessel will be further delayed, according to the YM statement.

The 2020-built container ship is deployed on the Far East – Pacific North West Coast Loop 2 – PN2 service of THE Alliance comprising Yang Ming, Hapag-Lloyd, Ocean Network Express (ONE) and HMM.

The port rotation of the PN2 service is Singapore – Laem Chabang – Cai Mep – Haiphong – Yantian – Tacoma – Vancouver – Tokyo – Kobe – Singapore.
